Time To Think About Bonefishing

Living in British Columbia, Canada I am surrounded by world class fishing.  So around May 1st I put away the bonefishing gear and re-organize my fishing room, vest and equipment to concentrate on what I need for trout, salmons and steelhead. If you can call what I do “work”…….I more or less stop working (fishing and writing about bonefishing) and focus on those fresh and saltwater species I have swimming not far from my front door. But when September arrives it’s time for me to re-engage with the bonefishing world and put my mind to sharing my love of flats fishing with others. There is a lot on the agenda for the upcoming season, including videos showing how to tie each of the fifteen Hamilton Signature Bonefishing flies now being sold by Discount Flies, outline of upcoming trips, reports from subscribers and the addition of some new locations on the website. What better way to start out the new season then to introduce you to Issue #13 of Tail Online Magazine and my article about DIY fishing on Mangrove Cay.  This is a great magazine and website  and is a marvellous resource for all your saltwater fishing needs. I look forward to ramping up for a new year of tropical flats fishing and connecting with all of Do It Yourself Bonefishing’s subscribers, but I have to get going this morning. The coho salmon season off our beaches is just starting. ………………..
